NICE (National Institute for Health and Care Excellence) recognizes that lipedema is distinct from obesity and lymphedema.
NICE recognizes that lipedema is common, underrecognized and extremely debilitating and significantly more common in women than in men.
NICE recommends that there be more research to understand who would benefit most from liposuction, long-term results, and quality of life (QOL).
NICE will revise its advice when publishing future trials and research.
